As a commoner, it's quite noticeable how tech people in general are different. Many came into money quite young, without much life experience(often much less than nontech folks.) The amount of money the tech folks make gives them a louder voice and more voting power in everyday life. This power is often abused, with few that are willing to 'check them', because for the working class and those that serve them, it could mean loosing their job. So many tolerate the abuse, and tech folks ego grow out of proportion to their awareness and general compassion towards others. They easily become out of touch with the world around.
Further more, the tech fueled online interaction is driving everyone further and further from healthy deep and real interaction in person that we used to take for granted a couple of decades ago...
